Exercise is therapy. From increasing ones metabolism (burning calories, & controlling weight), increasing ones cardiovascular rate (making the heart a stronger more efficient muscle to the circulatory system), to stimulating the brain and releasing chemicals (endorphins, serotonin) that help treat depression, improve the memory, to the release of neurotransmitters that help alleviate pain, both physical and mental.
Studies have shown that exercise has been great therapy for patients of cancer, helping improve the severe problems of fatigue and impairment of physical performance.
Exercise has proven to help reduce the symptoms of arthritis and improve joint mobility and strength, increase immune-system resistance, improve digestion, reduce stress and the list goes on and on and on.
Whether you’re an individual who plays hard everyday and looking to improve your game, someone recovering from an injury or other ailment that has left you inactive for sometime and yearning to get back in the game or just someone looking to change up and improve their day to day living, exercise therapy might just be what the doctor ordered.
